  Call me boring, call me old fashioned, but some of those standards have stood the test of time. I know we've moved beyond the temple arrangement.

  I do like that one about treating others as you would like to be treated yourself.

  Jesus would not approve such practices. Anyone wishing to become a Christian would have to leave off such practices. But in order to remain in Christ's teachings you have to have accepted them in the first place.

  The following are the words of John.
  

  (2 John 9-11) . . .Everyone that pushes ahead and does not remain in the teaching of the Christ does not have God. He that does remain in this teaching is the one that has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to YOU and does not bring this teaching, never receive him into YOUR homes or say a greeting to him. 11 For he that says a greeting to him is a sharer in his wicked works. . .

  Jesus gave authority to his disciples and the book of Revelation gives details of how Jesus was not happy with any wrongdoing in the congregations.

  (Revelation 2:2-5) . . .‘I know your deeds, and your labor and endurance, and that you cannot bear bad men, and that you put those to the test who say they are apostles, but they are not, and you found them liars. 3 You are also showing endurance, and you have borne up for my name’s sake and have not grown weary. 4 Nevertheless, I hold [this] against you, that you have left the love you had at first. 5 “‘Therefore remember from what you have fallen, and repent and do the former deeds.   Room215 - exactly - it does not belong to Watchtower to render anyone 'like a tax collector'. That right belongs to the Christians not to the anti-Christs.

  When they go on about someone being like Korah was to Moses, they are fulfilling the role of Korah not Moses.

  Telehealth Doctor's Visits Provided by JW Drs. - Coming Soon?

  there is a zoom meeting in our area this coming weekend to educate anyone with a healthcare background about "volunteering" to be part of providing health care through online zoom doctors visits.

  evidently jw doctors across the us are volunteering to do free zoom consultations that are technically real doctors visits.

  don't have many details other than i saw some of the letters from petra where people could sign up for this.. wondering if this is already happening in some areas or if anyone knows more about it?

  I have heard of the tours also. I expect they are off the scale boring but everyone has to find them interesting. When I went on such tours for real, you gave a donation to the guide. It went into a brown sealed envelope - which looked a bit suspicious to me.

  Maybe you are supposed to pay somehow, but it must look like a donation.

  They use Stephen 0.5:3-6 and Anthony 3:6,6,6
  

  But I also used a scripture. I know the Tetragrammaton isn't in the NT but this is the scripture I used to respond to the chairman of the Star Chamber that chucked out the synagogue

  (Jude 9) . . .But when Michael the archangel had a difference with the Devil and was disputing about Moses’ body, he did not dare to bring a judgment against him in abusive terms, but said: “May Jehovah rebuke you.. . .
  

  I just said the last bit and hung up on him.

  And elders are being warned by those who have been close to them, 'if you carry on like this I fear you may end up in prison.'

  Such warning land with a pumfff on deaf ears.

  Links to videos that seek to help them see what is going on, get stopped and shut down. They wont look. They shut their eyes and ears.

  JW feeling persecuted yet (California)

  california, after failing to ban all religious gatherings (failed in court) has now banned all singing and chanting in religious places, including if you are on a live stream and the only person around.. i haven't heard a peep yet from the jw.borg about how to handle this new 'persecution' on religion, the only thing that came up with a search was this: .

  Perhaps someone could confirm, but I'm hearing no conventions til 2022. Also new form of group arrangement - after meeting social groups. Ah if that's the case, maybe they've got around it by saying they are in social groups!
  

  California has banned all singing in religious places? So ANY song in a religious place?

  Then what about funeral parlours?

  Also, once I saw a lot of men dressed in smart casual wear. They were stood in rows in a big classical garden. It looked like the Psychology Department had sent out its leading men to do something wierd beneath the fir trees. I was taking a short-cut when all at once I came across a host of blokes with their eyes closed. From the moss covered stairs, I stood and stared. Slowly they moved in unison, keeping a creepy rhythm beneath the bright sun. There was no sound, except the birds but if there had been, how would California have dealt with that? Also what about the bird song?
  

  Outdoor, moving to music or bird song and being just wierd? Huh? And possibly at the end of it getting a certificate to show you attended the course.

  I may have finally figured out why some today think we are responsible for what others did centuries ago....it's in the bible

  we all know how adam and eve are supposedly responsible for selling all of mankind into sin and thus becoming "slaves to sin".so what they did (if it's not a fairy tale) affected all of the humans that would come after them.then at exodus 34:7 it goes on to show the sins of the father being passed down to the third and fourth generations7 "keeping lovingkindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin; and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, upon the third and upon the fourth generation.

  " (asv)even though i no longer look to the bible or regard it as i once did, i'm just trying to figure where some in today's world can even get the idea others are responsible for things that were done before they were born.

  only religion can make people feel guilty for things they never did/done or were a part of and then make others feel as if they're entitled to something..

  Stonewall - we obviously have a different take on things.

  I view the True God as Holy. He is Almighty and all his ways are justice and it does not belong to us to question Him because He gave life and He alone has the right to take life.

  But from your perspective, you might be viewing Him as a gorilla with a hand grenade. If that is the case, I'd be cautious with that gorilla.

  Now if there is no gorilla and no hand grenade, you're fine.
